This Blue House Rockin' follow-up tilts into darker, singular territory compared to volume one's split coverage of sunned-up reggae-soul canoneers Curtis Mayfield, Jackie Mittoo and Aaron Frazer. Now the source material centres on Soul Sugar and Dub Shepherd's cover of Rick James' 'Super Freak', on which Jolly Joseph's falsetto does the necessary reimagining work over bass, organ, piano, guitar and Minimoog, the track bent round 70s roots reggae frame; it comes with an extended dub on the flip, driven hard on tape in the Shepherds' established manner.
