BEASTIE BOYS vs MFSB - Check It Out People - Soopastole - 7"

DJ Soopasoul is back with more of his Soopastole Edits, and once again it's a deft slice of disco-era ingenuity from the enigmatic producer. A-side 'Check It Out People' cleverly fuses Beastie Boys acapella from 'Ch-Check It Out' with a tightened, bass-heavy rework of MFSB's 'People All Over The World' to result in a mash-up that feels seamless rather than cluttered. On the flip, the dub version strips the track back to shimmering instrumentation and is occasionally punctuated by MFSB's backing vocals, though the groove has plenty of room breathe. Soopasoul's technical precision but deep sense of vibe is second to none.
