PARBLEU - Elegua - Sonor Music Editions Italy - 7"

Following a pair of fine albums on Afro-cosmic influenced institution Peridica Records, Neapolitan five-piece Parblue resurface on Sonor Music Editions, bringing with them two more slabs of kaleidoscopic, hard-to-pigeonhole brilliance. Their sound, rooted in a blend of Mediterranean jazz-funk, cosmic disco and tropical music, remains as vibrant and essential as ever, as A-side 'Elegua' - a joyous, vintage synth-splashed slab of Afro-Latin disco with a typically tropical twist - emphatically proves. Flipside 'Peut-Entre Fous', a more slow-build affair built around acoustic guitar loops, sprawling synth motifs and sun-soaked jazz-funk grooves, is equally as impressive. If there's another album coming - their last dropped in 2023 - we can't wait to hear it.
