Where some of the UK's biggest d&b damagers cited the b-breaking likes of Bomb Squad and Marley Marl as inspirations, we're sure Kane would've been included in the same rollage roll call, as 'Raw' brought seriously pacey Brooklyn breaks streaks straight to street game. 'Raw' sat at a turning point for the rapper, when, after an early Juice Crew slew, he would prefer the drums harder, the samples drier, the rhymes more confrontational, and overall his music more detonative.
