FAMILY TREE feat SHARON BROWN - 12"

Whether you're into disco, funk, soul, hip-hop or a mix of all four, you should be familiar with Family Tree's self-titled debut single featuring future boogie hero Sharon Brown. It has long been considered a classic by DJs of all these persuasions, with its breaks being amongst those spun during the NYC block parties that spurned hip-hop culture. This remastered Acid Jazz reissue brings together the three most familiar versions of the cut. The real killer cut is the A-side 1976 disco version, which extends and toughens up the cut while retaining all of the vocals and instrumentation. Over on the flip, the band's original shorter seven version is joined by Dean Rudland, Frank Tope and Lord Brixton's 2002 'Super Disco Break Beat' take, a killer drum dub style edit with quick-mix style flashes of the original song.
