Jerome DERRADJI - Do Or Don't - Stilove4music US - 12"

Once prolific but all but silent since 2019, Still Music offshoot Stilove4music returns to action to mark the edit, rework and sample-heavy label's 20th birthday. Fittingly, it's label owner Jerome Derradji at the helm, with the Chicago scene stalwart offering up a trip of heavyweight, scalpel-style rearrangements. He begins with 'Disco Don't', a seriously sweaty, loose-limbed and organic chunk of mazy disco-funk madness that seems to just keep building and intensifying throughout. Over on side B, Derradji reaches for seductive, slo-mo disco on 'Jazz Don't' - all elastic jazz-funk bass, swirling strings and jazzy gfuitar licks - before strutting his way through some cowbell-powered, orchestrated disco brilliance on the peak-time release of 'Never'.
