Milan-based multi-instrumentalist Paolo Fedreghini, known here as FAM Disco, continues to explore his fascination with 70s cinema and live studio craft. His latest outing for Groove Culture feels like a small suite of imagined soundtracks that are warm and quietly playful. 'Easy Money' opens with clipped bass and lush Rhodes chords that unfold like a chase sequence through neon-lit streets while 'Cinematic Travel' leans into sweeping strings and tight percussion. It's all played live, too. On the flip, 'Police Dog' keeps the groove taut with crisp hi-hats and a hint of Blaxploitation swagger, before 'Without Mind' closes the set in a haze of suspended keys and brushed drums. Four pieces that prove groove - when handled with care - can still sound cinematic in the truest sense.
