Masterminded and produced by the \u003cb\u003eGerman, Grammy award-winning Berman Brothers\u003c\/b\u003e, and using the same all-star cast behind the Bill Withers’ reinterpretation, they put a joyous \u003cb\u003eBrazilian twist on the Marvin Gaye classic 'Sexual Healing'.\u003c\/b\u003e Rich in positivity and a pure end-of-the-night classic, this is another surefire winner to light up any occasion. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eA project born out of Christian \u0026amp; Frank Berman's, aka the Berman Brothers, passion for Brazilian music, they had wondered what some of the \u003cb\u003eall-time classic US soul songs\u003c\/b\u003e would sound like if they had been recorded in Rio de Janeiro with the best Brazilian musicians. “The idea took root in the vibrant streets of Rio de Janeiro. Beyond the city’s main carnival, countless neighbourhood block parties pulse with live samba drumming, colourful costumes, and a \u003cb\u003ejoyful mix of freedom, music, and cultural expression\u003c\/b\u003e. The goal was to capture this spirit and channel it into Gaye’s timeless hit,” explain the Berman Brothers.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eHeading to Rio in 2013, the brothers assembled a select team of top-level Brazilian musicians including many sidemen to one of \u003cb\u003eBrazil’s most influential composers, Tom Jobim\u003c\/b\u003e. They brought in \u003cb\u003eTorcuato Mariano\u003c\/b\u003e, renowned for his work with \u003cb\u003eDjavan and Gilberto Gil\u003c\/b\u003e, to arrange the songs, drawing inspiration from classic '60s \/ '70s Brazilian samba recordings for this new remake. Another addition was \u003cb\u003ePretinho da Serrinha\u003c\/b\u003e, one of Brazil’s most acclaimed samba musicians, who worked \u003cb\u003ewith Seu Jorge, Caetano Veloso, and Lulu Santos\u003c\/b\u003e. His masterful percussion and cavaquinho playing gave the track its irresistible summer energy.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eHaving spoken to Sony about their idea, they were given access to the \u003cb\u003emultitrack tapes\u003c\/b\u003e, meaning they could present Marvin’s original vocal take with this \u003cb\u003ereimagined Brazilian flavour\u003c\/b\u003e. “Our goal was to create an authentic samba recording to accompany Marvin Gaye’s vocal performance.
